When a serious back injury sidelined Carmine Giovinazzo in college, his dreams of becoming a professional baseball player
were put aside in favor of acting. In 1997, he left his native New York to try his luck in Los Angeles. He appeared in short
and independent films before getting his break in the pilot episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. His feature film credits
include Black Hawk Down, The Red Zone, Billy's Hollywood Screen Kiss, For Love of the Game, The Big Brass Ring and the upcoming
In Enemy Hands. His television credits include guest-starring roles in The Guardian and CSI, both on CBS, as well as UC: Undercover
and Providence. Giovinazzo's role as a CSI investigator with a long history of family in law enforcement mirrors his real
life family situation as both his father and sister were NYPD officers and his brother-in-law was a detective assigned to
former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani. When not acting, Giovinazzo pursues his other passions--painting, poetry and playing
guitar. For the past few years, he has been writing a film for an ensemble cast titled The Brink of Black. Giovinazzo was
born and raised in New York, and has also lived in Los Angeles.
